Barn

On our way to thrift shops, we stopped by an old, abandoned barn to take photos.
Quite interesting with all the rusty hardware, wooden boards and old fireman hat laying around...

Another T-shirt! (:

T-shirt that I made for my mom's friend who lives in Dubai. (:  The features of the drawing are either connected to her life or are in her life, so this T-shirt is very personalized.
To see how it looks on her, go to this post.
And for more photos go to this post on my mom's blog (:

Miu Miu Inspired

I still can't believe I didn't like this skirt before (I had it for many years), this is the first time I am wearing it!

The design of the top is similar to the Miu Miu Spring 2010 collection print.

Never-Ending Maze

A few shapes grow to be a whole maze..

Decided to cut the sleeves off of one of my T-shirts and draw on it with fabric pen, I am amazed by the outcome
Can't wait to include this shirt into an outfit. (:

Tutus arn't just for little girls and ballerinas..

forever21 dress

I wanted to wear the pink tutu under the dress to give the dress more volume and so that the ribbon would show at the bottom of the dress.

This is a T-shirt I hand painted for my mom's birthday.  I love the way it turned out and so did my mom (:  The process is very time consuming because I need to have a few layers of the color to get the result that looks best, but it is definitely worth doing.

Take You With Me, Around My Neck

I made this teddy bear a long time ago, it is simple and it makes a great accessory.  To give it that vintage look,  my mom let it soak in coffee and then it was put into the oven to dry.
And I just recently (a few weeks ago) made it into a necklace.

I am wearing BRONX oxfords,  Emily Blu top,  frenchi tights, and DIY shorts.

Bright Hue

I drew another blogger! Who is it this time?  Susie Bubble from style bubble !
I personally think that her style is very inspirational and it makes me want to draw her all the time.

I picked a photo that I would enjoy drawing.  So here is the outcome

I admire the way it turned out after repetitive re-drawings of her face.  I drew this on watercolor paper and used Faber-Castell aquarelle pencils.  And I like the effect of the aquarelle after applying a damp brush over the colored surface (best seen on the hair).

This is an outfit from a few days ago.

top: Roxy / skirt: eight sixty / owl bracelet: from zizibeh / bow bracelet: a belt that I twisted around my arm / shoes: B. Makowsky

  The heels are very comfortable!

I hope you are all having a great summer so far! (:

red door

Wow.. I haven't posted in a long time!  To make up for that, I am going to write a huge post (:

I experimented with using natural color and glitter for a drawing and it was successful.

The natural color was used only for the background.  I just picked out some flower petals of different colors, placed them in water and then rubbed them on the paper.  For a better result and the absence of a bumpy surface, it is better to try it on watercolor paper (which I am going to do).  The drawing itself was colored with water color pencils and then brushed with a little bit of water to blend the hues and make it look more smooth.  And then finished off with blue glitter in the spots that were originally colored blue (it was intricate and got a little messy, but worth the result).  You can relate this drawing with illustrations of PAPERFASHION because she also uses glitter in most of her artwork, but I still need a little something something in my drawings to make them even more special (PAPERFASHION adds glitter and swirls in her artwork). The last picture was edited by my mom and it looks like an illustration from a book.

For some time now, I wanted to post birthday cards that I made for my friends so far. And now I finally get to!

For all three I used acrylic paint.  I am happy to say that my friends were astounded when they saw the cards.  And I am hoping to buy more of the blank white cards to make more ( I only have brown, green, and yellow smaller cards left).

One of the outfits I wore in the time that I haven't posted was very simple yet it looked great.

Darn! I should have taken off my cardigan to show the long ruffles on my romper.  Oh well.

When I tried the baby phat romper on, I was amazed that it fit me!  Usually rompers don't fit me because the bottom part (the shorts) would be too big on me.  But this one fit me!  And I only have one other romper that fits me (yellow DKNY romper) and I can't wait to wear it and post the pictures so you can all see.
This photo was taken in front of a red door of a Chinese restaurant that was out of business :( but it's a great place to take pictures!

I told you that I would draw a more realistic drawing of Tin Iglesias, so here it is.

Of course it's not exact or perfect.  What am I, a robot?
I hope you like it Tin! (:

Wednesday, June 1, 2011

Lately I have been interested in drawing bloggers and it has been going pretty well and I am looking forward to drawing more.

The following bloggers I drew are Reese Lansangan from Dressed-Up Days and  Tin Iglesias from Fashion Ate the World.

photos from http://tiniglesias.com/  and http://blog.dressedupdays.com/
drawings are from my drawing book

The illustartion of Reese is more realistic than the illustration of Tin, but I am going to draw another one of Tin's photos because I want it to look more realistic as well. Hope you both like the illustrations!!
I colored the drawing of Reese with watercolor pencils and then used water to blend the the colors and make it look more smooth. On the drawing of Tin, I used regular colored pencils and a gold pen (hard to see on photos) to color in the little accessories such as the belt buckle and the heart necklace.

Today I finally found the shoes I wanted but they were expensive and my shoe size is growing, so there is no point in buying expensive things to only wear for a while ( I would wear them almost everyday until...my shoe size changes). Oh well, now I am on the hunt to find the perfect over sized sweater to wear with my tights and boots.
Oh and here is what the wedges looked like

Outfit Experimenting

What a simple day it was. As the time went by, I decided to not waste the perfect moment and go do a little bit of experimenting with my clothes. Well..this is what  came up with.

top under: kerch  tope over: free people  button-down shirt: sugar tart  leggings: from Target  shoes: Marni
Not bad I think, But why am I so unhappy in these photos except for the middle one??.
Of course, I first looked in my tights/leggings box and I see the orange leggings. And so the outfit went from there, putting on the tops that are similar colors to the leggings and then the blue shirt and black/brown heels to balance out the hues. I had braids the whole day, so I let them down... it's wavy! Perfect. Then photos, blah, blah, blah...then what do you know? I'm sitting on the coach again -___- Oh well! Hopefully tomorrow will be a more progressive day. At the least the outfit made the day less boring.

HEELS!!
I probably shouldn't wear heels at this age..NAHH! Who cares, I want to wear them! I just need to practice to walk properly. I don't want to wear like those very skinny heels, I want something more like platforms or high wedges. Like this for example.
Jeffrey Campbell Litas
Google Images
No, I'm not crazy. The shoes above, those I really want.  The problem is, I am not sure if the Litas will look large on me and will make the whole look awkward. I want to at least try them on, but they don't sell in stores here.

Ok, nuff said about outfits and boring days. Lately, I think I have been over stuffing myself with super soft, glazed, yummy..No! Must stop addiction! What was I saying? Oh ya, donuts(: Whenever we go to LA, I request a box of original glazed donuts from Krispy Kreme. I always eat them in the morning, but never during the day because I want to save as much as I can for every morning of the week. I think I had a donut every morning for the past two weeks! And yet, I can't seem to gain weight!! That's good, I want to stay this skinny. Ya, you will never guess how much I weigh..
See you tomorrow with a hopefully more interesting day and post(:
